past 13 years of his life a wanted man. Since his 2001
escape from prison in the back of a laundry truck ,
Guzmán, who oversaw the notorious Sinaloa Cartel,
knew his capture was always imminent. So when
authorities descended on a safe house rumored to be
holding the drug lord last week, Guzmán was able to
escape through an elaborate interconnected network of
tunnels .
Days later, thanks to a wiretap being monitored by DEA
agents tracking him just across the border in Arizona,
Mexican agents captured him. Guzmán is now being
held in the country’s highest security prison, and
despite the wishes of the United States, has no plans
for extradition to face trial in the U.S. anytime soon,
according to The Guardian .

Infamous drug boss Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman used
a network of interconnected tunnels in Culiacan,
Mexico to evade authorities just days before being
captured this week in the resort city of Mazatlan,
Mexico. This open steel reinforced door leads to one of
the tunnels located in the city’s drainage system.

(DAILY MAIL) A boy of 14 has become the youngest
person ever to be charged with raping their own
mother.The offence is alleged to have taken place at
their family home in Blackpool last weekend.
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons,
appeared before District Judge Jeff Brailsford sitting at
Blackpool Magistrates Court.
The judge remanded the teenager in custody . His case
was adjudged a ‘grave crime’ and will be heard at
Preston Crown Court at a future date. The previous
youngest to face the same charge appeared in court at
Swansea in 2004 at the age of 15.

Nigerian female gospel singer, Kefee Obareki
has accused the General Overseer of
Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA),
Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of being insensitive to
people’s plights. While trying to clear the air on her alleged
scandal with fellow singer, Timaya, the gospel singer in a
recent interview with Encomium , mocked the pastor and
made reference to his alleged scandal with Ese Walters –
“In 2008, I was invited to perform at a church (name
withheld) in Abuja for the second time. The publicity for the
show was massive, they had distributed invitation card to
guests, people were even calling to confirm if I was going
to perform. In fact, I got copies of the flyers weeks before
the show.
I was getting ready to go to the airport when I got a call
from the pastor’s P.A, asking if I had seen a certain
newspaper’s story about me. I said yes, it was a scandal.
And he said they don’t want to have anything to do with me
because of that scandal. Besides, he added that they have
top government officials who worship in their church, and
all sort.
I said ok, but the so-called senior pastor, who called me
initially to plead with me to accept a certain amount
because it was a new church couldn’t call me anymore, he
had to send his P.A to tell me that. He didn’t care what
happened to me, if it was true what said about me by an
angry, bitter man. I felt really low not because I didn’t do
the show but because they cared less what happened to
me, because that would have been the end of my career.
Now, I called Timaya. We met at a studio somewhere in
Festac town, and Timaya asked me about the same
scandal. And he told me what I expected a man of God
would’ve told me. I remember, he said to me, “Don’t worry,
if your hands are clean, you will see God turn things
around for you. God will help you, my sister.” I say this in
all sobriety, after which we recorded Kokoroko. When
Kokoroko came out and Timi (Dakolo) listened to it, he said
“Kefee, you dey make me like God in a different way.” Now,
you tell me, who acted like a good human? Who would
have ever thought that the so-called man of God, who now
has his share of scandal and is still planning a robust reply
would act that weird? So, when I heard people talking
about me featuring Timaya, it sounded funny.
God can use anything, anybody. Music is an art that
transcends all. Timaya was good for that song and he
delivered, that’s what matters to me. I don’t judge people.
If he was a doctor, you won’t say he shouldn’t treat you
because he isn’t a Christian. It won’t matter then. All you
would want is have him do his job and that was what he
did. He did a good job on that song you can’t deny that.
And to me, that’s what counts.”

Uni-OsunArmed hoodlums,
yesterday, invaded the
hostel of students of the
Osun State  University main
campus in Osogbo and
allegedly raped some
female students while
some male
students were
injured.
The hoodlums,
according to
sources, stormed
the hostel located
at Oke  Bale area
outside the
university campus
in the evening and
stole some property belonging to the students.
It was gathered that the hoodlums, who were armed
with machetes and  other dangerous weapons, carried
out the operation simultaneously at  three different
hostels in the area.
The source also said the hoodlums raped female
students in all the hostels, while male students who
failed to co-operate with them were  stabbed.
The affected hostels are Aso Villa, Diamond Hostel and
Marvelous Hostel. Items such as laptops, phones,
jewelleries and others were carted away by the
hoodlums.
The injured students were said to have been taken to an
undisclosed hospitals where they are currently
receiving treatment.
Meanwhile, some students of the university have
protested against the  development, claiming that the
incident has become rampant in the  university in recent
time.
The angry students, during the protest, chanted songs
and prevented lecturers and students from gaining
entrance into the campus.
They urged the management of the university to find a
lasting solution  to the recurrent rape and robbery cases
in the area, saying their lives were not secured.

released another result, placing the
University of Ibadan as the first among
equals.
Five other universities on top of the list were University of Lagos,
University of Nigeria Nsukka, Obafemi Awolowo University,
Ahmadu Bello University and the University of Benin.
According to URAP, this ranking is based on a number of criteria
viz:-

3. Total Documents.
4. JIT
5. JCIT
6. International Collaboration among others.

AFRICAN pop star, Reprudencia Sonkey,
popularly known as Dencia is sure enjoying the
fruits of hard work and entrepreneurship. The
fair artiste who is currently producing a spot
cleansing cream known as Whitenicious has said she has
sold over 30,000 bottles of the cream.
ENCOMIUM Weekly’s finding revealed that Whitenicious is
widely accepted by a lot of people and it is selling like hot
cake.
Within two months, Dencia claimed she made over a
million dollars from the sale of the cream.
ENCOMIUM Weekly had a chat with her to substantiate the
claim.
Is it true that you have sold up to 7,000 bottles of
Whitenicious?
We are at 30,000 containers right now.
How many bottles did you produce at the beginning?
I started with 5,000 bottles.
How much is a bottle of the cream?
It is $70 to $160 (N11,200 to N25,000).
Have you ordered for more to be produced?
Yes, we order weekly.
Is it sold in Nigeria?
We only ship to countries from America.
Does it have NAFDAC registration number?
We produce in the United States, so I don’t think we need
that.
The Cameroun born artiste who has been away in the
United States for quite a while started her cream,
Whitenicious in January 2014, with just 5,000 bottles but
said she has sold up to 30,000 bottles.  Despite the fact
that the cream has received a lot of criticisms, the cream is
still making sales.
Rumour has it that Whitenicious is a bleaching cream,
some even claimed it poses a great health risk to its users.
The singer even took to Twitter to reply critics, threatening
to sue some if they don’t decline from making negative
comments about her cream.
